American Senior Communities launched a new campaign called "It's Time!"  that is dedicated to getting back to normal as safely as possible.

Janean Kinzie, Director of Social Wellness and Life Enrichment, shares that American Senior Communities updated their processes. Kinzie said, "[ASC] reimagined many of our programs to combine safety, which we know is so important over this past year, but also preserve that life enrichment and social wellness that happens in all of our communities."

To keep everyone safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19, ASC employed infection prevention specialists in all their locations. "We also use technology. We have needlepoint bipolar ionization units that help to kill pathogens in the air," Kinzie said. "We also use electrostatic fine-mist sprayers that help sanitize surfaces, even ones that are hard to clean."

The Care Companion Program focuses on each person's story. ASC matches new admits with a care companion who connects with the resident and acts as a friend throughout their time at ASC.

American Senior Communities is excited to invite families back inside the facility. Kinzie noted that even when that's not possible, they have virtual options that make sure everyone stays connected.

Keeping residents connected within facilities is top priority at American Senior Communities. ASC has reimagined things like "what is dining?" to make sure that people enjoy delicious food but still sit safely apart. Activities have also been adjusted to ensure safety.

"We still offer a wide range of activities that focus on wellness, but have reimagined those to make sure everyone is safe," Kinzie added.
