INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating after two people were found deceased Thursday evening on the city's east side.
An IMPD spokesperson said officers were conducting a death investigation in the 1300 block of North Chester Avenue, which is just east of 13th Street and Sherman Drive.
Friday morning, police said no foul play is suspected in the incident, which remains under investigation. Detectives preliminarily believe the incident was a double overdose, IMPD said.
The coroner's office identified the two that died as 51-year-old Shawna Mitchem and 59-year-old Steven Fields. The manners of death are still pending, but the coroner also points to probable drug overdoses.
