A Shelbyville casino will be the first in the state to offer sports betting next week.

ANDERSON, Ind. (WTHR) - A Shelbyville casino will be the first in the state to offer sports betting next week.

Indiana Grand Racing & Casino will launch legalized sports betting on September 1, the first date Indiana's legislature allows. That date, which is tentative, would open sports betting in Shelbyville two days before Caesar's Entertainment opens betting at the Winner's Circle on Pennsylvania Street in downtown Indianapolis.

Horseshoe Hammond Casino is set to open "The Book" on September 4, also in time for the start of the NFL's regular season on Thursday, September 5.

Caesar's also announced sports betting would begin at Harrah's Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on September 19. "The Book" is a brand-new construction overlooking the facility's race track and offer state-of-the-art audio and visual technology, in addition to access to food and beverages.

Off-track betting properties in Clarksville, New Haven and Fort Wayne will also start offering sports betting next month.

The sports betting will also include offerings through the Caesars Rewards program.
