SPEEDWAY, Ind. — What a time to be hanging out in Indianapolis!
The Indiana Fever season is here, the Indiana Pacers are in the playoffs, and of course, yes, the Indianapolis 500.
It's all good news!
We spoke with Suzi Elliott, senior manager of media relations at IMS, during our recent visit to the track, asking her to share her good news.
"The best news is ticket sales are strong, and the forecast looks great," Elliott said.
We also met with a "yellow shirt," a member of the the track's seasonal security team, and asked about importance of their role in the month of May.
"Pretty important," he said. "On race day, there's probably about 1,500 of us throughout the oval, and we make things happen, we keep people safe and tell people, 'If we all behave ourselves, we'll get along right.'"
The Sonsio Grand Prix is Saturday, and the 108th Running of Indy 500 is coming up on Sunday, May 26. Our coverage on Race Day will begin at 5 a.m. with 13 Sunrise.
