Good News | Guerin Catholic's game-winner gets reaction from around the world

With a sectional title on the line, Guerin trailed by one with a couple of seconds left in the overtime session.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — It's high school basketball tournament time in Indiana, and one central Indiana team is recounting the Hail Mary it took for them to make it to the regionals.

Guerin Catholic is moving on after a sensational play that's been seen literally around the world.

With a sectional title on the line, Guerin trailed by one with a couple of seconds left in double overtime.

We asked Malcom Houze, a junior guard, to show us exactly what happened next.

"We're looking for a lob to 22, Dylan, Ben setting the back screen for him around the white line-ish, and they're coming around. It's a nice easy oop to him," Houze said.

But the play didn't actually happen exactly as planned.

"I sailed it a little bit," Houze said. "And then Ben ran it down, made a great effort play and then threw it by his head, hoped for the best, and I ended up with a bucket."

Head coach Bob Allen said he's happy for his players.

"I think for the kids, it's just been an opportunity to kind of feel like heroes of the school for a little bit. Right? I'm not a big social media guy, but all the kids are and I got friends that are telling me that's on 'SportsCenter,' and we had someone tell us that someone over in Scotland saw it as well," Allen said. "You know, the outpouring of support has been unbelievable. I mean, yeah, it's been all over the place."
