1 dead, 2 seriously injured in Johnson County crash

The crash happened around 7 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of North Five Points Road, just south of County Line Road.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — Police in Johnson County are investigating a deadly multi-car crash that killed one and seriously injured two people Thursday evening.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. Oct. 12 in the 700 block of North Five Points Road, just south of County Line Road and just outside Greenwood city limits.

According to a police report, one of the drivers said the car being driven by Sukhwinder Singh, 42, lost control and came into his lane - hitting him head on. Police said Singh's speedometer was stuck at 65 mph. Singh later died at the hospital.

Five Points Road was closed in the area for several hours Thursday night.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, though "there is no initial suspicion of intoxication," police said.

The preliminary investigation seems to show Singh did cross the center line and hit the other car, police said.
