21 arrested in massive Henry County drug bust

Out of the 21 people arrested, HCSO says 12 of the arrests were made for dealing meth and other narcotic drugs.

HENRY COUNTY, Indiana — The Henry County Sheriff's Office says it has arrested a total of 21 people in a massive drug bust.

According to a social media post from the HCSO, during the evening of Jan. 26, Henry County Area Drug Task Force (ADTF) officers carried out a large-scale raid on area drug dealers. Thirty officers, including K-9 units from the HCSO, New Castle Police Department and Indiana State Police executed the mission in a few hours without major incident.

Out of the 21 people arrested, HCSO says 12 of the arrests were made for dealing meth and other narcotic drugs. Four additional arrests for drug possession were also announced.

In total, there were 27 different counts of dealing controlled substances ranging from Level 5 to Level 2 felonies.

The HCSO says the successful multi-agency bust is "just the start" of their new commitment to using joint agency law enforcement. Funding for the raid was reportedly made possible by the Abuse, Reduction, Intervention, Education and Support (ARIES) grant.
