INDIANAPOLIS — The Month of May will be here before we know it.
The 500 Festival is currently looking for volunteers to help put on the multiple events scheduled for May.
Wednesday, Jan. 10 was the One America 500 Festival kickoff. Registration is now open to help with the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, the AES 500 Festival Parade and other events. Organizers say it takes thousands of people to help make the events come together.
"We see a lot of repeat volunteers from year to year," said Lindsay Labas, vice president of marketing and communications for the 500 Festival. "The 500 Festival puts on 50-plus programs and events throughout the month of May and throughout the year itself, and we really couldn't do what we do without the volunteers and support of the community."

The first event held by the 500 Festival is just a few weeks away. The first race in the Miler Series begins Feb. 10.
