INDIANAPOLIS — The 13 Weather Academy headed east Wednesday morning to Hancock County.
Meteorologists Lindsey Monroe and Matt Standridge visited J.B. Stephens Elementary School, where they spoke to third graders about the weather.
They taught the students about how our weather team predicts weather, and Lindsey demonstrated how clouds are formed with a weather experiment.
The students also learned about severe weather, including hail, tornadoes and floods, which was an appropriate lesson the morning after strong storms blew through central Indiana. Some of the students got a chance to try out the "tornado in a bottle" experiment, forming a funnel with a few flicks of their wrist.
Thank you to Mrs. King for inviting 13 Weather Academy to Greenfield!
