Abraham Lincoln Elementary School students get visit from 13 Weather Academy

The kids had great questions for meteorologist Lindsey Monroe.

INDIANAPOLIS — It was a great visit with an engaged group of students in Perry Township!

The 13 Weather Academy was greeted by third-graders at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School Tuesday, Jan. 30.

The children had a lot of great questions for Live Doppler 13 meteorologist Lindsey Monroe, who taught them everything about severe weather and how it forms.

The kids loved the fun experiments Monroe showcased, especially creating her own cloud in a bottle!

13 Weather Academy is a fun way to learn more about weather and how it affects our lives.

Once a month, the Live Doppler 13 weather team travels to local schools to teach students about Indiana weather. You can request a visit to your school by filling out this form.

It's our hope that our school visits will challenge kids to think, observe and analyze the physical world around them.

13 Weather Academy helps students in many aspects of their lives, but these skills can also keep them safe when the weather around them turns for the worse.
