INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Having a baby on New Year’s is almost becoming routine for Sherea Mitchell.
Right after the start of the new decade, the mom gave birth to son, Giano at St. Vincent Women's Hospital.
Having a baby on New Year’s has to be pretty special, but this is Mitchell’s second New Year’s baby.
14 years ago she had her daughter, Neveah.
“I just think it’s…I don’t know. I am so used to already having one on this day, so I think just another one will make it even more joyous,” Mitchell said.
Giano was born at 2:59 a.m. Jan. 1 and weighed exactly 7 pounds. His older sister says she’ll be OK sharing a birthday.
“She broke science,” Neveah said. “I don’t even know...it’s kind of crazy, like really crazy.”
Mom and baby are healthy and doing well. They expect to be able to go home on Friday.
