TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — Police are investigating after a man was killed in a single-vehicle crash near West Lafayette early Tuesday.

The crash was reported around 3 a.m. April 30 at the intersection of Klondike Road and State Road 26 West, just west of West Lafayette. First responders found a Dodge pickup truck had crashed into a wooded area, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office said.

The Tippecanoe County Coroner's Office identified the driver as 25-year-old Turki Aljarbou, from Saudi Arabia.

The sheriff's office said a preliminary investigation indicated the driver was traveling south on Klondike Road and did not stop for a stop sign, traveling through the intersection before going into the air and hitting trees. No one else was in the car.

The crash remains under investigation, and toxicology results for the driver are still pending.
