INDIANAPOLIS — "Garage Party," a dance party that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community, is returning this spring to help fundraise for local Indianapolis organizations.

The Damien Center and Indiana Youth Group are partnering with Indy Bag Ladies, a group of grassroots fundraisers raising money and support for HIV/AIDS not-for-profits, to hold the event's 40th anniversary party at the 416 Wabash Event Space on Saturday, April 6.

"Garage Party" was created in 1984 by the Indy Bag Ladies and held its inaugural event at Market Square Arena's parking garage, quickly becoming an annual tradition as one of the largest mega-party/fundraisers in the Midwest.

“We’re excited to join forces with IYG and the Indy Bag Ladies to resurrect and commemorate this cherished event that began four decades ago as an electrifying dance party,” said Alan Witchey, president and CEO at Damien Center. “By uniting Indianapolis’ LGBTQ+ community, we not only pay homage to our roots but also celebrate our collective dedication to cultivating a dynamic, inclusive, and compassionate city where individuals living with HIV/AIDS receive unwavering support.”

Tickets for the 21+ event are priced at $15 for general admission or $50 for a VIP ticket that includes access to the VIP balcony and one drink ticket.
