INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A judge found a man guilty of shooting his ex-wife 14 times after she dropped her child off at day care.
Christopher Justice was standing trial for the 2014 shooting. He was supposed to go to trial several months ago, but it was delayed because his ex-wife was back in the hospital.
"Although it's a bittersweet victory, I am very happy to put this behind me and finally start focusing on healing, life and loving my girls," Justice's ex-wife, Shirley, said in a statement after the verdict was announced.
Justice was arrested two days after the shooting by police in Lexington, Kentucky.
The couple's six-year-old daughter was not hurt in the shooting.
Christopher Justice will be sentenced August 17.
