23-year-old man arrested in Kokomo attempted murder, attempted kidnapping

Police arrested a 23-year-old man on preliminary charges of attempted murder, robbery, attempted kidnapping and possession of firearm by a serious violent felon.

KOKOMO, Ind. — An Indianapolis man is the suspect in a Kokomo attempted murder and attempted kidnapping case.

Kokomo officers were called to the Qwik Stop located at 305 S. 00EW just after midnight on Monday, May 6.

Police were told the suspect shot at a woman and stole her car.

Deputies found the car and stopped it on U.S. 931, near Carter Street. They arrested a 23-year-old man on preliminary charges of attempted murder, robbery, attempted kidnapping and possession of firearm by a serious violent felon.

(NOTE: 13News does not name suspects until charges are filed by prosecutors.)

Police said they recovered a gun the man allegedly threw from the car before they stopped him.
