48-year-old man killed in Edinburgh stabbing

EDINBURGH, Ind. — Edinburgh police are investigating after a 48-year man was found stabbed to death early Monday.

Officers with the Edinburgh Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing in the 6400 block of East State Road 252, near U.S. 31, shortly before 12:30 a.m. May 6.

When they got to the scene, officers found a man who had been stabbed in the torso. Medics attempted to save the man's life at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The Johnson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 48-year-old Michael Gene Adair of Edinburgh. His cause of death was determined to be a single stab wound to the chest.

Police said a 34-year-old man from Taylorsville is in custody. The Johnson County Prosecutor's Office will make the final charging decision.
