IMPD searching for suspect in gas station robbery on Indy's west side

IMPD is asking for help in identifying this man, who threw a hot cup of coffee at a clerk at a gas station on the city's west side and then stole money from the cash register.

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is asking for help in identifying a man wanted for robbery on the city's west side. 

Police say the man entered a gas station at 3748 High School Road near 38th Street on Wednesday, June 3. 

According to police, the man made a hot cup of coffee and approached the counter to pay. When the clerk opened the register, the suspect threw the hot cup of coffee at the clerk's face and went around the counter and took the money out of the register. 

The suspect is described as 20-25 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing 200-220 pounds, and having a goatee. He was seen leaving in a 10 to 15-year-old sedan.

Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
