Match Day pairs future leaders with business professionals

The students are enrolled at IUPUI and are matched with mentors from various local corporations.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Students hoping to be part of our city's future development are getting a chance to learn from the best.

They're shadowing experts as part of a local Match Day program. The students are enrolled at IUPUI and are matched with mentors from various local corporations.

The goal is to expose the students to professionals in director and CEO roles.

The program focuses on diversity and community development while helping to increase the talent pipeline for non-profit companies that are looking to hire.

Jasmin Tylor is a Junior at IUPUI. She signed up for the Match Day program hoping it’s a toward opportunities for her to give back to our city and surrounding communities.

“That's why I want to give back to communities because it will also give other kids and just general people in the community that appreciation, understanding of where they come from and being resilient and growing,” Tylor said.

Match Day is a new initiative at IUPUI with the support of Indianapolis area. Organizers would like to see the program expand to other universities and college campus in the Circle City.
