INDIANAPOLIS — While Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Advisories are in effect for portions of the U.S., Indiana will be in the warm sector of the storm system.
Friday will be a mild day with rain returning. A warm front will lift across central Indiana, allowing temperatures to soar into the mid-50s by late afternoon, and then, into the low 60s by late day.
Along the warm front, rain will start to fall by late afternoon.
There will be a lull in the rain, as the warm front moves north of central Indiana.
The cold front will arrive late Friday night. Thunderstorms will be likely along the cold front, and a few strong to severe storms will be possible. Gusty winds will be the main threat.
Storms will taper off early Saturday morning.
Behind the cold front, temperatures will crash from the low 60s, into the upper 30s by early afternoon Saturday.
