INDIANAPOLIS — Central Indiana continues to be influenced by a stalled-out storm system keeping storms in the forecast again today. Skies remain mostly cloudy this afternoon with occasional showers and storms. Storm chances are around 50%.
Areas that stay mainly dry top out in the low 80s with highs in the 70s elsewhere. While temperatures remain below average for this time of year, the excess moisture in the air will make it feel humid all day.
This weak low-pressure system stays put through Labor Day tomorrow. We start the day mainly dry with storms popping up in the late afternoon and evening.
Severe weather is not expected but brief heavy downpours and lightning will be possible. The increased cloud cover and rain chance will once again limit high temperatures to the upper 70s near 80.
While this system begins to break down on Tuesday, scattered rain showers and isolated storms will linger. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s and low 80s.
The pattern will finally break come Wednesday. With more dry time, temperatures will recover back into the low to mid 80s through the end of next week.
