INDIANAPOLIS —
TODAY:
Mainly sunny but unseasonably cool in the mid-50s. That's about 10 degrees below average!
FROST ADVISORY TONIGHT:
From 1 a.m. through 10 a.m. Monday, lows will be in the mid to upper 30s. We'll watch out for frost development across central Indiana, especially in more rural and low-lying areas that are wind-sheltered. It would be a good idea to bring in any potted plants or cover outdoor vegetation to prevent damage.
MONDAY:
We'll see a shift in wind direction from the southwest tomorrow, bringing in more mild air with highs rebounding to the low to mid-60s. Monday will stay clear, with plenty of sunshine.
When will we see rain next?
Our next weather system pushes in during the pre-dawn hours Tuesday, bringing a stray shower overnight with scattered rain showers starting mainly in the afternoon. Rain will be heavy at times as the cold front moves through. Temperatures hold steady in the mid to upper 50s.
Rain will wrap up before sunrise Wednesday.
When will temperatures warm back up?
Not until Friday. This cold front will actually serve as a reinforcing shot of cooler air. Frost will once again be possible Wednesday morning with lows in the upper 30s. Highs will be hindered to the mid to upper 50s as sunshine returns Wednesday afternoon. Look out for another frosty start on Thursday with morning lows in the mid-30s and highs in the upper 50s.
Temperatures look to become more seasonal as warm front lifts through on Friday, taking highs into the mid-60s. This front will bring another round of rain in though for Friday into Saturday.
