Live Doppler 13 Weather Forecast - 1/16/20 Evening Update

It will be cold tonight, with a mix of freezing rain and snow tomorrow night.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Friday night and early Saturday for about the northern half of Indiana. The advisory was issued due to the potential for ice and snow accumulations Friday night. Along and north of I-70, snow totals will be an inch or less with some ice accumulations possible too. From Monticello to Logansport, Peru and Marion, 1-3 inches of snow with some ice are possible. Stay weather aware and allow extra travel time Friday night.

It will be cold tonight, with lows in the range of 18 to 23 degrees. Friday will start with sunshine but end with a wintry mess. Temperatures will slowly climb into the upper 20s and lower 30s by late afternoon Friday. It will be cold enough to support some snow and freezing rain. We are expecting this to arrive late afternoon and early evening, with tricky travel Friday night. You can stay weather aware and download the Live Doppler 13 Weather app to your phone.

There should be enough warm air pushing into the weather system to change the wintry mix of ice and snow to rain by early Saturday. Saturday will be damp with highs 45 to 50 degrees. Temperatures start to fall again late Saturday. This will be the coldest air of the year so far.

Speaking of cold air, temperatures will tumble into the teens by Sunday morning. This cold air will stick around through early next week and it will mean highs in the 20s and lower in the high single digits and low teens. With the colder air, there will be the chance for a few flurries or snow showers Sunday and Monday.
