As we expected, light snow fell around the area last night and early this morning. Most spots got a dusting on the ground even though the wet snow came down hard in a few places and froze up a couple of our weather bug cameras in our northern counties. Slick spots are possible area-wide as temperatures fall into the 20s during the morning commute.
If you have been outside this morning, you are not surprised that we will have wind chills in the teens. Scattered lake effect snow showers give way to a brightening sky Tuesday afternoon with chilly "highs" near freezing. Get used to this. Our morning lows will be very cold into early next week.
Wednesday is a quiet, but cold, weather day before a system brings a mix of precipitation types to the area Thursday. It's several days out, so still so much uncertainty on track, location, and intensity. But there's some potential of snow, sleet, and ice accumulation. Please check back for updates.
Another quick-moving system arrives Saturday afternoon with potential of rain/snow showers.
