Because of the construction, the farmers market on Wednesdays will now be on Monument Circle through Oct. 28.

INDIANAPOLIS — Starting Tuesday, East Market Street downtown will be closed between Delaware and Alabama streets.

The Department of Public Works says it could stay closed until late next year.

This is part of a $7.4 million pedestrian safety project.

Crews will be installing a raised walkway between the city-county building and City Market.

They will also be adding more parking for cars and bikes.
