Indianapolis - The Indiana Pacers have waived forward Magnum Rolle.
The 6-foot-11-inch forward from Louisiana Tech was the 51st overall pick in this year's draft. The Pacers acquired him from Oklahoma City in exchange for Ryan Reid.
The Pacers signed Rolle last month, but waived him to get their roster down to the league-mandated 15-player limit.
Team president Larry Bird says Rolle played well but got caught in a numbers game.
Rolle averaged 13.9 points and 8.4 rebounds for Louisiana Tech last season, and led the Western Athletic Conference with 2.1 blocks per game. He averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in five preseason games.
