Belgian restaurant takes dinner to new heights

A sky-high restaurant in Europe is taking adventurous foodies to dizzying heights!

BRUSSELS, Belgium (WTHR) - A sky-high restaurant in Europe is taking adventurous foodies to dizzying heights!

Diners are seated around a small "kitchen" area and hoisted 130 feet into the air by crane at the fine dining restaurant that boasts stunning views of the Brussels skyline.

The unique experience is a pricey one - it will cost you $320 for a seat at the table.

The meals are prepared in mid-air by renowned Belgian chefs. Items on the menu include Holstein beef with peas and asparagus with wild garlic leek gravy. Premium wines and champagne are also offered.

The concept started in Brussels 11 years ago and has now expanded to 60 countries around the world.

One of the chefs, Bart De Pooter, describes it as a one-of-a-kind experience you can't get at any typical restaurant.

"It's a very small kitchen and the experience is quite different (from) the moment you go up," De Pooter said. "Also, the weather is a big part of the experience you have. But, being very close, have straight communication, I think that's the most important difference."

The restaurant operates seasonally. Diners can take to the skies until June 18.

There are no "Dinner in the Sky" restaurants in the United States, but it is offered in Canada.
