Muncie, March 18, 2004 - Police and federal marshals captured Muncie's most wanted.  Authorities arrested Daimen Sanders in Indianapolis late Thursday afternoon.

Sanders is the third person arrested in the murder of Ball State University student Karl Harford.

Sanders' run from the law lasted 11 days, but Thursday night Muncie Police booked him into the Delaware County jail.

Muncie Police Chief Joe Winkle said, "Yeah we're pretty excited. We've been looking for him since this has happened and received a lot of tips."

A tip Thursday led U.S. Marshals to a Days Inn Indianapolis motel at 38th Street and High School Road.  U.S. Marshal Jim Truitt said, "He was in the room alone and he answered the door. He initially attempted to punch the door back on us, but of course we rushed in and arrested him without incident."

Sanders is sought in Ball State student Karl Harford's death. It happened at a party off campus and police say the victim agreed to give the suspects a ride home . He turned up shot inside his car in the alley robbed of $2. The question remains, is Sanders the suspected shooter?

Winkle said, "Until we talk to him we won't really know for sure who the shooter is." Sanders was questioned why he had been on the run for all this time.

Sanders said, "I'm wanted in five surrounding counties, so if I turn myself in for questioning I'm going to be in jail for my warrants."

Police say Sanders moved around a lot this week. On television his grandmother made a plea and asked him to give up. Ruth Fox had said, "I feared for Damien's life."

Fox now says, "I'm glad that he's in custody cause we know where he is now."
