Indianapolis protest demands ceasefire for war in Gaza

The rally comes as an Israeli airstrike killed a Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon on Monday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Jewish Voice for Peace-Indiana and the Middle Eastern Students Association at Indiana University-Indianapolis organized a march to Sen. Todd Young's office Monday demanding a ceasefire for the war in Gaza.

Dozens of people gathered at Monument Circle. They said thousands have been killed, many displaced from their homes in refugee camps, and others are dealing with starvation. They want lawmakers to stop funding the war.

"The people of Indianapolis just demand that our tax dollars are not used to fund what is very clearly happening as a genocide in Gaza," Malkah Bird said.

Young's office was not available for comment.
