Triple murder investigation continues

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - Metro Police have now named Dominique Miller, 25, Jordan Wright, 25, and Justin Crowder, 19, as the three people found at a shooting at an apartment complex.

Homicide investigators were called to the scene around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Responding officers found the three males unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene.

Cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but autopsies are being performed today.

Miller's family released a statement about Dominique and finding his killer.

The Miller family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and heartfelt concern. Dominique Miller's life was tragically cut short. The family is very devastated. Dominique was a father of two girls, he was a son, a friend and a brother to many.

We are asking the public to help bring those responsible to justice. Our hearts go out to the other two families who lost loved ones as well.

We will pray for those responsible asking that God will have mercy on them.

Police say two other people were in the apartment when they arrived. They were not hurt. Police have taken them from the scene.

Other witnesses told police that others were seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the area. Police are not sharing information about them yet.

Police are not talking about motive yet, but Captain Harold Turner said they are "100-percent sure this specific apartment and these individuals were targeted."

Emily Leitch said she got a frantic phone call from a friend.

"She just told me that her roommates were shot. So she called and was, like, hysterical."

Leitch hurried over to the apartment complex off South River Road just east of 79th and Keystone, but her friend was already gone - talking with police.

Emily wasn't sure if her friend discovered the bodies.

"I don't know. But she just walked in right when she had just gotten home."

Ny Cox just stopped by the apartment to drop off dog food to her friend who lives where the shootings happened.

Cox said, "I pulled around the corner and saw these cop cars and thought, OK. And came over here and saw the address. Stunned so..."

As neighbors waited for word on what happened and why, they also ask how could that happen? It's always so quiet in the complex.

Tina Harmon, who lives in the complex said, "I have no clue. It's just weird. There is nothing like that ever goes on out here. It's secluded. That's why I moved down here. I have no clue. Really."
