1 displaced after fire destroys southeast Indianapolis home

The fire was reported around 11:15 p.m. Monday, April 22 near Edgewood Avenue and South Franklin Road.

INDIANAPOLIS — Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed a home on Indianapolis' southeast side late Monday.

The fire was reported around 11:15 p.m. April 22 in the 5700 block of Tart Boulevard, not far from Edgewood Avenue and South Franklin Road. Arriving crews found heavy fire coming from the roof and brought the fire under control in roughly 45 minutes.

The sole occupant of the home was not there when the fire broke out, the Indianapolis Fire Department said in a social media post.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
