SOUTHPORT, Ind. (WTHR) — In a touching moment, police escorted the son of Lt. Aaron Allan to his first day of school.
Lt. Allan had walked his son to the school bus for his first day of kindergarten in 2017 and was killed in the line of duty later that day.
Fellow officers have walked little Aaron to his first day of school each year since.
Lt. Allan was responding to an accident and was trying to help a man trapped inside the car when that man opened fire on him.
