INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indy Burger Week kicks off today with more than 50 local restaurants offering up their best burgers for just $5.
A portion of the money goes to Second Helpings, which helps to eliminate hunger in central Indiana.
It's the third year for Indy Burger week. The event runs June 25 through July 1. It's a partnership between Second Helpings and NUVO, who bring various food and drink weeks to the city throughout the year.
But NUVO representatives say Burger Week is by far the most popular week — bigger than Tenderloin Week, Wings Week, Pizza Week, Taco Week and Bacon Week.
Scott Sims, the owner of Between the Bun in Greenwood, said last year during Indy Burger Week, his sales nearly doubled.

There are restaurants with deals on every side of town, giving diners an opportunity to try something new while supporting a good cause.
