HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind — Police in Hamilton County are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday evening.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 on State Road 19, near 216th Street.
Officials told 13News a person was walking on the highway and was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead after the crash.
Hamilton County Coroner Jeff Jellison identified the victim as 37-year-old Stephanie A. Spellman, of Cicero.
A spokesperson said the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police, and officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
An investigation is underway.
