The Costco at Emerson Avenue and County Line Road opened Thursday on Indianapolis' south side.
The Greenwood-area store is 148,000 square feet and is slightly different from the two Costco locations on the north side.

The optical department, typically located at the entrance, will instead be found near the pharmacy. There is also more freezer space in this new store.
The store has been signing up members at various locations prior to the grand opening so that there wouldn't be a long line to sign up Thursday.
