Grant County - Triple murder suspect Jeremy Blanchard is back in Indiana in a Grant County jail while Kokomo authorities continue to mount evidence to charge the 30-year-old.

Jeremy Blanchard returned in handcuffs to Grant County after he was extradited from Kentucky. The 30-year-old Blanchard, with a lengthy criminal history that includes burglary, is a suspect in the Friday murders of his ex-girlfriend, 28-year-old Jessica Berg of Gas City, her mother, 57-year-old Rebecca Berg, and 62-year-old David McPike, Rebecca Berg's fiancé. The victims were found stabbed to death in McPike's Kokomo home.

"The name of an estranged boyfriend surfaced where there had been some recent issues with him and some involving violent behavior and then we found out he was nowhere to be found," said Lt. Don Whitehead, Kokomo Police.

Just a day before her body was found, Jessica Berg filed for a restraining order against Blanchard saying that he stalked, physically and sexually abused her and had tried to break into her apartment last week.

Blanchard made his initial court appearance in Grant County on Wednesday morning, charged with probation violation. Meanwhile in Kokomo, investigators are continuing to build their case against the murder suspect.

Investigators on Wednesday were still at the murder scene processing evidence.

"The physical evidence is massive and the crime scene is still being processed and it's not finished," said Whitehead.

Friends of Blanchard's say that they are shocked by the allegations and that Blanchard denies killing the victims.

"He contacted my younger sister Dana by phone. He never discussed where he was but said that what he's accused of he's not guilty of and started crying to her," said Devin VanDiver, Blanchard's friend.

With Blanchard back in Indiana and in jail, investigators say they are building their case against the man suspected of murdering three people.

Blanchard is held without bond in the Grant County Jail on the probation violation and awaiting potential charges in Kokomo.
