Indiana State Police want the public's help in looking out for items outdoors possibly linked to the slaying of an 85-year-old retired farmer in rural western Indiana nearly six months ago.

Detectives from the Putnamville post say items possible discarded by those responsible for the slaying of Lowell Badger of rural Merom include gloves, tools, knives, firearms, and anything else appearing suspicious or out of place. Two specific items detectives are looking for is Badger's personal safe and a black 46" Sony Bravia LCD television. The safe is a gray, older model about 2 feet square and 3½ feet high.

Badger's son found him shot to death Dec. 8 in the man's home about 30 miles south of Terre Haute.

The Putnamville post can be reached at 765-653-4114.
