Starlight - A southern Indiana wood-products manufacturer has closed its visitor center.
Koetter Woodworking Inc. says it shut down the Forest Discovery Center because of economic conditions and declining attendance. The company also has cut its work force from 475 to 330 employees in recent months.
Company president Randy Koetter says he doesn't know whether more layoffs will be needed.
The company is about 15 miles north of Louisville, Ky., and makes wood doors, flooring, custom millwork and cabinet components. At its peak, Koetter Woodworking used 20 million board feet of timber per year.
