The Pacers are on a two-game winning streak. During some down time, Pacers point guard George Hill wants to remind Hoosiers about a way to honor teachers with the United Way's Hubbard Prize for Life-Changing Teachers.

For Hill, it's a personal mission. He is a Broad Ripple High School graduate.

Hill remembers his English teacher, Mrs. Berachot, who made a deal with him to give him a B - but he had to work through the summer to earn it.

"Even after I graduated, I had to come back every day. We met at Einstein Bagels right there. I remember like it was yesterday. Einstein's Bagels, right there across the street from Broad Ripple [High School] Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the summertime. She would buy me a strawberry cream cheese bagel with cinnamon sugar on the bottom and orange juice every morning, and we'd go over work - how to write better, how to read better, and do all these things that prepared me for life. This is a teacher that - really didn't matter who I was, she didn't care that I was an athlete, she didn't care I was the most popular guy in school. She never let up," said Hill.

When this award started in 2013, Broad Ripple High School gave George Hill something he couldn't afford when he was a student: a letter jacket. At the time, the jacket had the wrong year. On Thursday, the school made good with a new jacket with the right numbers.
