Broad Ripple - A fire has closed down a popular Broad Ripple restaurant until at least Sunday.

The Marion County Health Department was called to Bazbeaux's Pizza after a fire in the kitchen Friday morning.

Deb Vorchelt from Bazbeaux's says the restaurant in Broad Ripple is closed until further notice.

An oven caught fire at the restaurant at 811 Westfield Boulevard in Broad Ripple around 6:00 am.

The sprinkler system was activated and the fire was put out. Gas and electricity was cut to the building.

The Marion County Health Department investigated the fire damage, since food was involved. Health inspectors asked that any food products in the area of the fire be discarded, but did allow food in a walk-in cooler, not impacted by the fire, to be transferred to a refrigerated truck.

Before the restaurant can re-open, the health department and the Indianapolis Fire Department will have to conduct inspections to ensure necessary repairs have been completed.

Bazbeaux's other branches remain open.
