INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — A community is in mourning following the deaths of two siblings on the city's near east side.

The victims are 16-year-old Nicholas Nelson and his 15-year-old sister Ashlynn.

Over the past few days, GoFundMe accounts have surfaced claiming to raise money for the teens' family. However, the family confirmed with Eyewitness News that they have not authorized any collection of money on their behalf via GoFundMe.

IMPD shared a post about other ways to assist the family with food, moving services and relocation expenses.

On Monday, an arrest was made in the double murder.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 317-262-TIPS. If your tip leads to an arrest, you will receive up to a $1,000 cash reward. All calls to the tip line are 100 percent confidential.
