Families use yard signs to celebrate graduating seniors

Medjeski is getting requests for yard signs by the hundreds; People looking for ways to celebrate their seniors, whose final year of high school came to an abrupt end.

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – When the coronavirus upended our economy, Jon Medjeski wasn’t sure what would happen to his business.

“You have no idea what’s going to go on. I have friends with boutiques and they’re done. You know it’s a sad deal,” said Medjeski.

For the past six years he’s run Tag Sandwich Productions, a printing company that mostly serves other businesses.

But it’s a flood of small orders over the past week that’s kept him as busy as ever.

“I’ve got about a two-day backlog. Somebody asked to ship to Florida today. And I’m only one guy. I’m doing as much as I can I’ve probably done about 400 signs,” said Medjeski.

“I think it’s a great idea to honor our graduates cause some of them are having a pretty hard time,” said Kathy Browning who ordered a sign for her daughter, Abigail, who’ll graduate from Brownsburg High School. “She’s handled it well because she knows that we need to do this for our health and our grandparents' health, but we’re getting through it we go for a lot of walks.”

He’s taken orders from across central Indiana. It keeps the business going but also feels pretty good.

“There is nothing better than seeing them pull up and their face light up, whether they knew about it or not, like Woah this is pretty cool,” said Medjeski.

Each personalized sign is $20. You place an order here.
