INDIANAPOLIS — Local organizations are teaming up to provide a safe and responsible way for people to get rid of their prescription drugs.

Police, fire and local businesses are teaming up to host drug take back locations.

Those will be held Saturday, April 27, which is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The events are slated to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The program is for liquid and pill medications. Vaping pens without batteries and vaping cartridges will also be taken. Needles, new or used, will not be accepted for disposal.

Indiana State Police is also taking unwanted medications at any Indiana State Police Post, except for the Toll Road Post.

The Putnamville post will have its collection on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
