INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - A central Indiana soldier has gone missing from Fort Hood in Texas.

An Army spokesperson confirmed Friday afternoon that Pvt. Dakota Stump went missing Monday evening. The Army is working closely with local law enforcement agencies and maintaining close contact with Stump's family.

"Our first and foremost concern is Pft. Sump's safety and health," MSG Jacob Caldwell said in a statement to WTHR.com. "Finding him quickly is the first step to ensuring both of those things."

Stump is an indirect fire infantryman and is assigned to Apache Troop, 4th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team in 1st Cavalry Division.

His brother, Dustin, told KCEN, our NBC station in Waco, said Dakota told him the army wasn't what he expected and that he thought he would see more action.
