Black Restaurant Week offering special menus at more than a dozen locations

If you're looking for a deal on dinner this week, we've got an idea for you!

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — If you're looking for a deal on dinner this week, we've got an idea for you!

Indianapolis is debuting a new event called "Black Restaurant Week."

It celebrates restaurants owned and operated by black men and women across the city.

The idea started a couple years back in Houston, but now Indy is taking part in its own similar event, which runs from July 21 through July 28.

The National Urban League is partnering with the event, and the timing is just perfect because its conference is in town this week.

More than a dozen restaurants are participating and are offering special deals.

Some of the restaurants include Comida, Brick, King Ribs Bar-B-Q and Soul's Kitchen.
