INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Indy Mega Adoption is once again hosting a free event at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Thousands of animals from dozens of local shelters will be available for adoption.
Adoptions are just $30. Each of the animals come already microchipped and vaccinated, and can be taken home with you the same day.
Many Indiana shelters face the dilemma of having to euthanize their residents because of severe overcrowding.
“This is our tenth adoption event in five years, resulting in the adoptions of approximately 7,000 animals," Megan Bennet, the event organizer said. "At the same time, we are seeing a record number of shelters from Indiana coming to Indianapolis as part of this collective effort to find loving homes for animals while cutting down on needless euthanasia.”
The event is Oct. 13-14 from noon until 6 p.m.
