2 Indy-area Rally's restaurants closed after failed health inspections

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) — Two Indianapolis-area Rally's restaurants are closed for the time being after failing health inspections.

The food license for the restaurant at Kentucky Avenue and Mann Road was suspended by the Marion County Public Health Department on January 31 after inspectors found critical violations. One of the violations, for no running water, was noted again during a re-inspection in February.

The health department said food safety inspectors planned another check of the restaurant on February 21, but no one was at the restaurant to let them in. The restaurant will remain closed, pending a re-inspection.

The second restaurant, at Madison Avenue and E. Troy Avenue, had its license suspended January 7 after violations were found during an inspection of the restaurant. The health department said those violations included a walk-in cooler and a walk-in freezer that weren't keeping food at the proper temperature.

The health department said this location will also remain closed until a re-inspection takes place.

Restaurants must pass re-inspection to regain its food license from suspension and resume normal operations, the health department said.
