The Force can be with you as "Star Wars" lightsaber hits auction block

Items from over a century of TV and movies are up for bid later this month in Hollywood.

LOS ANGELES (WTHR) - Some amazing pieces of Hollywood history are hitting the auction block this month.

The items up for bid include the front doors to Rick’s Café Américain from "Casablanca," Leonardo DiCaprio's screen-worn costume from "Titanic," performance outfits worn by musical greats including Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie, Lady Gaga and Beyonce, plus hundreds of photographs signed by actors throughout the 20th century. Also included are scripts from several classic movies and TV shows, including "Gone With The Wind" and "The Twilight Zone" and a book signed by the cast of "The Wizard of Oz" (with Toto, too!)

But the highlights of the auction are celebrating the 40th anniversary of "Star Wars.

Luke Skywalker's original lightsaber from "Star Wars" and "The Empire Strikes Back" movies is available. The non-fighting version of the famous weapon was constructed from a Graflex flashgun from the 1930s. It is expected to fetch $150,00-$250,000.

Have a little more cash to spend a full film-used R2-D2 unit is expected to bring more than a million dollars in the auction (then you have to get it shipped from the United Kingdom.)

Staying with galaxies far, far away, Rick Moranis' helmet from Mel Brooks' comedy classic "Spaceballs" figures to bring in $8,000-$12,000.

The auction catalog, which is nearly 700 pages long, also features items from "Back to the Future," "Driving Miss Daisy," and "Die Hard with a Vengeance."

The auction is scheduled to run from June 26-28.
