IU student from Greenfield wins $50,000 on "Jeopardy!" college tournament

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - He didn't win the big prize, but an Indiana University senior collected a nice paycheck on the "Jeopardy! College Championship."

Tyler Combs of Greenfield finished with $20,000 in the two-day tournament, which was good for second place. That means he took home $50,000.

University of Minnesota sophomore Nibir Sarma dominated the final games, earning the top prize of $100,000.

Combs tweeted congratulations to Sarma Friday night, saying second place wasn't so bad.
