The chase reportedly went through Westfield for several miles before the suspect lost control while trying to turn too quickly from South Street onto North Union Street. The car crashed into a Westfield Police vehicle.

The injured officer was outside of that vehicle, trying to get stop sticks out when the crash occurred. The officer's leg was struck, causing minor injuries, police said in a release posted to Facebook Monday night.
