INDIANAPOLIS — Prosecutors have charged a 24-year-old man with three counts of murder in a deadly triple shooting that happened Friday evening in Lawrence.

Police arrested Malik Shaw, of Indianapolis, three days after the shooting.

According to a release, around 7:15 p.m. on April 12, Lawrence Police Department officers responded to an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Duxbury Lane, near 42nd Street and North Post Road, after receiving reports of gunfire in the area.

Officers arrived and found three victims with gunshot wounds. All three victims were given immediate medical attention but were eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

LPD confirmed the identities of the three victims as 19-year-old Aaliyah Wortman, 19-year-old Londyn Coleman and 27-year-old Spencer Lawson Jr.

According to court documents, a phone recovered by police led a detective to an Instagram account belonging to Shaw, who matched a person seen in security video from near the crime scene.

Once Shaw was in custody, a detective noticed a tattoo on his shoulder that appeared to match that of a suspect seen on the security video.
